Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Suspends Ticket Sales for 85th Festival

The Maggio Musicale Fiorentino is suspending ticket sales for its upcoming 85th festival.

The company said, “we inform our audience that, due to Commissioner Onofrio Cutaia general analysis of the upcoming 85th Maggio Fiorentino Festival, it has been decided to suspend, starting from March 17 – and for the shortest period of time – tickets and season tickets sale for the Festival’s shows already announced.”

The company added, “we want to reassure the audience that any interventions will be taken with a careful assessment of the sustainability of the Festival program and its quality, and aimed at encouraging the broadest participation of spectators.”

The 85th Maggio Fiorentino Festival is set to present “Carmen,” “La Traviata,” “L’Italiana in Algeri.” There will also be a concert by Daniel Barenboim.
