Bayerische Staatsoper Cancels All April Performances

The Bayerische Staatsoper has canceled all perofmanced until April 27, 2021.

The company announced that “due to the renewed extension of the lockdown in Bavaria, we, unfortunately, have to cancel all performances up to and including April 27.

The company is the latest German company to cancel all performances in April following a surge in COVID-19 cases in Germany. The Deutsche Oper Berlin recently closed its theater for the entire month.

The Bayerische Staatsoper is currently offering Rossini’s “Il Signor Bruschino” on VOD starring Misha Kiria, Emily Pogorelc, Paolo Bordogna, Andres Agudelo, Josh Lovell, Andrew Hamilton, Edwin Crossley-Mercer, and Eliza Boom.

The company recently presented a production of “Der Rosenkavalier” as well as “Falstaff,” and “La Bohème.”
