Opéra National de Bordeaux has renewed Marc Minkowski’s contract.

Laurence Dessertine, President of the Régie personnalisée of the Opéra National de Bordeaux, announced that Marc Minkowski’s contract as General Manager will be renewed from Sept. 1, 2019  to August 31, 2022.

Minkowski was the founder of Les Musicians du Louvre and took charge of the Opéra de Bordeaux in June 2016; he replaced Thierry Fouquet.

Minkowski recently finished a run of “Fidelio” at the Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg Grand Théâtre and is set to conduct “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” in Bordeaux. The conductor will also lead two productions of “Manon.” The first will be in Bordeaux before he heads to the Opéra-Comique, Paris Théâtre National de l’Opéra Comique.
