Anita Hartig, Sophie Koch & Annick Massis Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse’s 2018-19 Season

The Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse has announced its 2018-19 Season featuring eight opera productions and a number of recitals.

Here is a look at what the season will offer.

Productions

The season opens with Verdi’s “La Traviata” conducted by George Petrou in a production by  Pierre Rambert. Anita Hartig and Polina Pastirchak alternate the lead role with tenors Airam Hernández and Kévin Amiel sharing Alfredo and Nicola Alaimo, and André Heyboer singing Germont.

Performance Dates: Sept. 26-Oct. 7, 2018

Korngold’s “La Ville Morte” is set to star Torsten Kerl, Evgenia Muraveva, Thomas Dolié, Matthias Winckhler, and Katharine Goeldner. Leo Hussain conducts Philipp Himmelmann’s production.

Performance Dates: Nov. 22-Dec. 4, 2018

Vivier’s “Kopernikus” will be directed by Peter Sellars. Casting is set to be announced at a later point.

Performance Dates: Dec. 11-13, 2018

Giacomo Sagripanti conducts Donizetti’s “Lucrezia Borgia” in Emilio Sagi’s classic production. Annick Massis takes on the title role with Éléonore Pancrazi, Mert Süngü, Roberto Scandiuzzi, Thomas Bettinger, and Galeano Salas.

Performance Dates: Jan. 4 -Feb. 3, 2019

Catherine Hunold, Issachah Savage, Stéphanie d’Oustrac, Jessica Pratt, Philippe-Nicolas Martin and Pierre-Emmanuel Roubet star in Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos” with Evan Rogister conducting Michel Fau’s production.

Performance Dates: March 1-10, 2019

Dukas’ rarely performed opera “Ariane et Barbe-Bleue” is set to be directed by Stefano Poda with Pascal Rophé conducting. Sophie Koch leads the ensemble of singers, which include Vincent Le Texier, Janina Baechle, Eva Zaïcik, Marie-Laure Garnier, and Andreea Soare.

Performance Dates: April 4-14, 2019

Hervé’s “Mam´zelle Nitouche” will be conducted by Christophe Grapperon in a production by Pierre-André Weitz. Lara Neumann, Eddie Chignara, Antoine Philippot, Damien Bigourdan, Samy Camps, Olivier Py, and Miss Knife star.

Performance Date: May 11-19, 2019

“Werther” starring Jean-François Borras in the title role. Jean-François Verdier conducts Nicolas Joel’s production which also stars Karine Deshayes, Philippe Estèphe, and Florie Valiquette.

Performance Dates: June 20-30, 2019

Recitals

The season will also include a number of recitals from Max Emmanuel Cencic, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Christian Gerhaher, Matthias Goerne, Stéphane Degout, Stéphanie d’Oustrac and Béatrice Uria-Monzon.
